Mission Statement:
The Yemeni American Public Affairs Council is a non-profit organization entrusted to educate, integrate, and advocate on behalf of the general public and specifically those of Yemeni American heritage. This is done by shaping public policy and opinion through engagement of decision makers in government, institution, media, and public at large. The YAPAC is entrusted to represent the Yemeni American community and help build bridges that are long overdue. Our strength is our networking ability and one of largest growing community. Due to our community size, it has awakened and risen to the challenge and believes in the need for integration and assimilation in the American system and way of life. As a natural manifestation of that awareness a collective effort has taken place. Now unified under an umbrella organization, YAPAC will take our community to a new frontier and maximize our public advantage. Here are some of our goals and intended areas of concentration.

Advance Yemeni Americans’ interests in local, state, and national politics.
In an effort to keep the Yemeni-American community informed about security developments during this period of unrest in Yemen, the Department of State has posted a video message from Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs, Janice L. Jacobs on our consular website (travel.state.gov). The webpage entitled “Unrest in Libya” has up-to-date safety information for U.S. citizens currently in Yemen. As Assistant Secretary Jacobs says in her message, we are seeking the assistance of the friends and family of U.S. citizens in Yemen to keep them informed and safe. With that in mind, I’d ask that you share these web pages with the membership of the Yemeni American Public Affairs Council. On behalf of the Bureau of Consular Affairs, I also want to convey my best wishes for the continued safety of your friends and family currently in Yemen.
Sincerely, Michelle Bernier-Toth
